You don't have to learn long, complicated movement sequences, nor do you have to get into lycra and do impossible bends on the floor. Anyone can do it! The classes are based on simple movements, each practiced separately so it is very easy to follow. If you have balance problems you can even do it sitting in a chair and still gain many of the health benefits. On the other hand, if you are more athletic, you can make the movements as challenging as you want.

The classes are loosely based on a style known as 'Shibashi Chi Gong', which was nominated as the 'National Health Exercise of Taiwan', with over ten million Taiwanese performing it daily.

"The simplicity of the movements allows me to focus much more on helping my students relax and improve" says Stephen Rouse, who teaches many different age groups in various types of exercise, "and I would say that Tai Chi gives he widest range of health benefits for both the Mind and Body".

Cost and Structure:

For Tai Chi you join a small group class of no more than eight students.

Initially you can do one taster class to see if you like it and just pay £9 on the day. Thereafter these classes are booked and paid for in advance in BLOCKS of between 6 to 9 weeks, (depending on the calendar). Each session costs £ 9.00, so a block of 8 sessions, for example, will cost £ 72.00

However, if you are just starting with us, you can start part way through a block and just pay from when you start. Thereafter the class blocks are always paid in full. If you have to miss one of your classes, it is usually possible to catch up in another slot, by arrangement, but only during the current block. (However, if this is not possible, this concession is to be regarded as a courtesy, not a right).
